We are seeking a driven and experienced Solar Project and Operations Manager to join our team and help us scale our impact.

Position Summary:
As a Solar Project and Operations Manager, you will oversee the full lifecycle of solar installations projects—from planning and permitting to execution and post-installation operations. This role requires strong project management skills, technical expertise in solar systems, and a proactive approach to operations and team leadership. They will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Project Planning & Development:
  • Manage end-to-end execution of solar projects, including site assessments, permitting, procurement, installation, inspections, and commissioning.
  • Coordinate with internal teams, subcontractors, utility companies, and AHJs (Authorities Having Jurisdiction) to ensure timely project delivery.
  • Monitor and manage project budgets, schedules, and quality control.
  • Develop and implement operational processes and best practices to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.
  • Track and report key performance metrics, including energy production, uptime, and service calls.
  • Conduct site evaluations and feasibility studies to determine project viability, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Implement time management strategies to optimize workflow and meet project deadlines.
  • Prepare reports on project status as needed, highlighting any potential risks or delays.
2. Execution & Management:
  • Lead the project team in executing solar installation projects from initiation to completion.
  • Coordinate with engineers, technicians, contractors, suppliers, and regulatory agencies to ensure seamless project progression.
  • Monitor project progress, address risks, and resolve issues promptly.
  • Familiarity with construction estimating practices.
3. Quality Assurance & Compliance:
  • Monitor progress, address any issues.
  • Oversee quality control processes, ensuring installations meet design and safety requirements - complying with local, state and federal regulations.
 4. Budget & Financial Management:
  • Manage project budgets, control costs, and track financial performance.
  • Prepare and present financial reports to stakeholders.
5. Stakeholder Communication:
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on project status.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and partners.
6. Team Leadership:
  • Manage and motivate project team, ensuring collaboration and alignment on goals.
Qualifications:
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience managing solar projects or operations in the solar energy industry.
  • Strong knowledge of PV system design, installation practices, and permitting processes in California. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, operations management, engineering, renewable energy, environmental science, or a related field preferred. 
  • Proven experience managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in project management & CRM tools (e.g. Sunbase, Buildertrend, Trello, or similar).
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and permitting processes.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • NABCEP, PMP certification is a plus.
  • Valid California driver’s license and willingness to travel locally.
